H. G. BENTLEY, with the English amateur golf trophy after winning the championship at Deal. He beat the 18-year-old John Langley in the final by 5 and 4. This cup can only be competed for by a native-born Englishman and should not be confused with that for the British amateur championship, now being played at St. Andrews, in which Bentley has reached the fifth round.
