INDOOR BOWLS

RECORD MEETING OF ASSOCIATION.

At the weekly meeting of the Palmerston North Indoor Bowls Association held on Wednesday night there was a record attendance, there being ten rinks on the mats. An enjoyable time was spent in a rinks competition, the following being successful with three wins : —Henderson, Mrs Andrew, H. King, M. Batley (skip). The president announced that the committee had drafted rules conforming with those of the Wanganui Association, and that these would operate immediately. Members were also advised of the committees decision to operate the association on the club system from Wednesday next. A list of players allocated to each club was displayed, and each dub was requested to appoint its own club captain, and to register, by Wednesday next, its decision and the club name selected. Each club will select its own rinks and will be responsible for their attendance in sufficient time for play to commence at the time the committee arranges. Tho annual game with the Wanganui Association for tihe inter-city challenge rose bowl will this year he played in Palmerston North, and has been arranged for July 23, when ten rinks from each association will meet. Arrangements are also in hand for a whole day tournament on the King’s Birthday. Increased interest is being shown in the game, and the association hopes for a successful season.
