At the weekly meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenna Rugby Union, held on Tuesday, Mr J. Gillespie presided. With regard to the question of ihe admission of basketball players to Easton Park, Foxton, while .Rugby matches were in progress, the town clerk of Foxton advised that the matter had been referred to the next meeting of the Borough Council. The secretary of the Wellington Union advised that that body had approved of August 15 for their match against the Horowhenna representatives to be played in Horowhenua. — It was' decided that the match be played at Levin. The Foxton Club were fined 10s for failing ter provide a playable ball in their game with Ivuku at Foxton on Saturday. The tipiki School Committee wrote thanking the union for the football donated to the school. It was decided that the season’s play in the senior competition consist of two rounds and a further “knockout” round. Play in the junior competition will also consist of two rounds and a “knock-out” round, while in the third grade four rounds will he played. Saturday’s fixtures are:—Senior: Shannon v. Hui Mai, at Shannon, Mr P. McLeavey: Kuku v. Waimeha, at Waikanae, Mr K. Ransfield. Junior: Hui Mai v. Rahui, at Manakau, Mr K. Davis.
