OBITUARY.
The death occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs H. F. Arkwright, “Overton,” Marton, on May 20, of jVIi-s Alice Riddiford, a former resident of Hawera and widow of the late Mr I l ’. 'Riddiford, at one time well known in South Taranaki cricket. Rugby, and racing circles. Mr Riddiford held large property interests in the Marton district, owning Opeke Downs, r» block of land at Ararata, and a half share with the late Mr A. S. Tonks in tiie Fairfield propertv, later acquired by the latter partner. On the death of Mr Riddiford some 23 rears ago, Mrs Riddiford left to reside in Marton. She is survived by three daughters— Mrs W. Bunny (Maimrape;, Mrs Hurst, wife of Dr. Hurst (London) and Mrs Arkwright (Marton). One son, Mr E. Riddiford, died seven years ago. The funeral took place privately in Hawera.
