GOING TO GENEVA.
MR W. J. JORDAN. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, May 28. An intimation that Mr W. J. Jordan will leave New Zealand in time to take his seat on the League of Nations Council in September was given bv the Prime Minister to-day. This will involve a by-election for the Manukau seat, which will be held in July or August. Mr Savage said that it was probable that an expert adviser on world affairs would accompany Mr Jordan from New Zealand to Geneva.
“This is a glorious opportunity for little New Zealand to get on the map,” said the Prime Alinister.
Asked if Air Jordan’s departure implied that he xvould assume the High Commissionership before the end of the year when Sir James Parr’s term expires, Mr Savage said that it had not arisen and lie saw no reason why it should arise.
