OPTIMISTS’ CLUB.

The weekly luncheon of the Optimists’ Club was held on Tuesday when Optimist A. J. Tillick presided over a large attendance of members. Mr W. Boag was welcomed as a visitor and apologies for absence were received from Optimists \V. H. Brown, J. H. White, Iv. Struthers and E. Collinson. Two new members, Messrs G. Grindrod and H. Falconer were welcomed by the president (Mr R. Haddon) who presented them with their badges. Several new songs were practised under the direction of the song-leader, Mr N. Rocs, who was responsible ’ for new song books. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his work in this connection. The luncheon came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
