MOTORISTS’ ESCAPE,

CAR STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. Mr and Mrs H. Brown, of Daroobalgie, N.S.W., had remarkable escapes from injury when motoring home from T'orbes. Three miles from town a vivid flash of lighting struck the bonnet of the car, and, spreading into a huge sheet of blue flame that temporarily blinded the two travellers, ran to earth in front of the vehicle. The car stopped immediately. An investigation by torchlight in the blinding rain showed that, though every light bull) had been burnt out and the ignition coil ruined, all the fuses under the dashboard remained intact. Mr Brown and his wife consider that they had an amazing esi capo, and attribute this in part to the i insulated steering wheel.
