FORTY-HOUR WEEK.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 15. Claims based on a 40-heur week are to be submitted shortly to the Transport Board by the Auckland Tramway Employees’ Union. The present agreement Ims expired, but is continuing to operate until it is superseded. it is also proposed to affiliate with the National Union of Tramwaymen. The Transport Board’s traffic staff at present works a 48-hour week and the permanent and depot staffs' 47 hours.
