Appealing for public subscriptions Captain Eriksson declares that the Herzogin Cecils (which is ashore on the Devon coast) can be saved. Only lack of money is keeping her oil the rocks. If the public responds he will guarantee the owner to take at least six British apprentices yearly without charge.
