An Olympic Games official who is visiting London told the Associated Press that 53 nations were sending 5300 athletes to Berlin. The few declining invitations included Palestine, winch had replied that its athletes had not yet readied the Olympic standard. The German team will number about 460 and will be the largest; America, with 400, will probably be next. The Alinistry of Finance has relaxed the ioreign exchange restrictions to enable the importation of foreign iood. In addition to a German Armv officer attached to each team as ail assistant, there will be an official attache to ea-ch team, on behalf of the organising committee, who will, as far as possible; be of the same nationality. All the British Empire tea.ms will be grouped in the same section of Olympic Village. OLYAIPIC TEAMS. DEPARTURE FROAI SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Alay 13. The New Zealand, New South Wales, and the Queensland competitors who embarked on the Alongolia for the Olympic Games at Berlin, were to-day farewelled by thousands ot friends and admirers. The police band played “Advance Australia” and “Auld Lang Syne.” Lively scenes, amid a maze of coloured streamers, culminated in the German Consul-General (Dr. Asmis) presenting the commander of the Alongolia with the Olympic flag in the name of the German Olympic Committee. He assured the teams from the Dominions of a most cordial welcome. The personnel of the Australian Olympic team is as follows : —Athletics : J. Aletcaife, G. Backhouse, A. AValson, E. AVoodhouse, B. Dickinson and Miss D. Carter. Swimming: P. Oliver, R. Masters. W. Kendall, Misses P. Norton, K. Mackay, and E. de Lacy. Boxing and wrestling: R. Garrard, L. Cook, E. Scarf, L. Harley, H. Cooper and J. O’Hara. 1 Cycling: E. Gray, C. AVheeler and _ T. Johnson. Rowing: New South A\ 7 ales police crew, Cecil Pearce and H. Turner.
