RESCUED FROM MILK CAN.

The extraordinary sight of two furiously waving legs protruding from an upright milk can on the side of the road at the foot of Alount Alesseuger caused a motorist the other day to bring bis ca.r to a sudden stop. It was obviously a situation tor prompt measures, and it was a matter of moments only before the driver had drawn from tho can a badly frightened boy whose ears and liair dripped milk, while he literally, spurted it from his mouth as he choked and spluttered. Having expelled enough milk and taken breath tlie boy began to cry lustily. Questioning was not only fruitless, but it 6eemed to increase his fright, and still sobbing he ran off in the direction of a farmhouse neiar by. It was obvious enough, however, that he had attempted to drink from the can and had slipped in head first, an accident tiiat must have occurred a few seconds only before the arrival of the car, or the consequences might have been serious.
