BUTTER TRADE.
FACTOR OF SPREADABILITY, TESTS IN LONDON. Received April 28, 910 a.m. LONDON, April 27. Commonwealth dairy interests have arranged a test at Australia House to establish whether Australian butter is hard to spread, br Earle Page spread eight unlabelled butters, and the checking disclosed that Victorian, New South Wales, Queensland, New Zealand, Danish, Dutch, and Lithuanian were equally spreadable, but that Latvian was inferior. Officials hope the tests will dispel the' Australian reputation of pool, spreadability due to cold storage on the voyage. A similar allegation concerning New Zealand butter has appeared from time to time at Home, and the matter has been given expert attention.
