DAIRY MARKETING.
. GOVERNMENT’S POLICY. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 27. Discussing the Primary Produce Market Bill which is due to appear in the House to-morrow afternoon the Prime Minister (Hon. M. J. Savage) to-night said that the price to be guaranteed would not be fixed for some months yet. The Government intended to take over dairy produce as from August 1. The price announced at the start of a season would remain in force for the whole of that season. The Government would take over the whole of the production to be exported and would be entirely responsible for that section of the trade. In addition, the Government might take over at any time supplies of dairy produce required for the New Zealand market and arrange for its distribution and sale in such as manner as it thought fit.
