EARLY BOOKING

A PARLIAMENTARY SEAT. (By Telegraph —Special to Standard.) AVELLTNGTON, April 23. When Mr C. L. Hunter (Manawatu) was commenting in the House to-day on the Arbitration Amendment Bill, which he heartily approved, he took to task the critical member for Stratford (Mr AV. J. Poison),, remarking that he was quite familiar with his arguments, for he had heard him speaking before in Parliament. As this was Mr Hunter’s maiden speech in the House there was laughter at his apparent slip in referring to former Parliamentary experiences, but the Manawatu member quickly explained that bis point of vantage had been the strangers’ gallery on the floor of the House, and he had used his opportunity to pick out -the member’s seat he would eventually occupy.
