ST. PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH.

LADIES’ GUILD

The monthly meeting of tlie St Paul’s Methodist Church Ladies’ Guild was held yesterday afternoon, when Dr. Minnie -Valley, of Nelson, president of the Christian Endeavour Movement in New Zealand, gave an interesting address. Rev. A. W. Scotter presided, there being an attendance of over 100 ladies. An invitation had been extended to the ladies of St. Andrew’s Presbvterian Church, Baptist Church. St. " David’s Church, Cuba Street Methodist Church, and the Congregational Church to attend. Apologies for absence were received from several who were unable to be present,. Tlie room was tastefully decorated with dahlias, Michaelmas daisies and pink belladonna lilies. Musical items were rendered by Mrs H. L. Cunninghame and Miss Varley and were much enjoyed. Afternoon tea was served by members and friends of St. Paul’s Guild. '* At the close of the meeting, the presidents of the visiting guilds expressed their thanks for the opportunity given them to be present and voiced their appreciation of the thought of sharing with others the talk and the social hour together. Dr. Varley also addressed a meeting at the Congregational Church last night.
