ATTITUDE STIFFENS

(Received April 23, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, April 22. The Daily Telegraph’s Tokio correspondent says Japan’s attitude towards Australia is stiffening daily. Australia is being warned of the serious consequences - likely if she raises barriers against Japanese goods. Mr Blatsushima, the new director of the Foreign Office Trade Bureau, told the Trade Promotion Association that Japan would vigorously retaliate against any country unfairly restricting imports from Japan.
