CHAIN STORES.

NEW SOUTH AVALES INQUIRY. SYDNEY, April 22. The Government has decided to noid a public inquiry into the operations of chain stores. The inquiry will oe conducted by an industrial commission concerning their ramifications, conditions under which they operate, and the effect of their operations on the community. The Minister of Labour (Mr J. M. Dunningham) agreed to confer with representatives of employers and employees in the storekeeping business m an endeavour to arrive at a solution of the problem of the unequal competition of chain stores.
