The Morning Post’s, political correspondent says the Government is likely to face a stormy session. Tlie Opposition will vigorously attack it on domestic issues, and it will also have to meet widespread discontent among its own followers on questions of Imperial arid foreign defence policy. A strong section will not be content until it is categorically assured that the territories at present under British rule under no will be ceded to a foreign Power. The overwhelming opinion in the House is opposed to the transfer of native peoples to the Nazis. The House is most anxious lest the Anglo-Egyptian negotiations result in a compromise under which important strategic centres would be evacuated by tho British forces. Tlie Conservatives are also closely watching the future of foreign trade agreements, especially Danish and Argentine: They consider that more attention should be paid to home agriculture in the*' interests of defence, even at the expense of the export trades. . . ~, _. • , The, Prime Minister (Mr Stanley Baldwin) will shortly be addressing back-benchers at a private dinner and his speech will be most important in view of the efforts to rally the party.
