PRESENTATION.

A very pleasant function took place at the Hokowhitn School recently, when a social'evening was tendered to Mrs P. V. Burns, who for the last two years has been chairwoman' of the ladies' committee which was formed to assist the School Committee. Mrs Burns has reluctantly resigned this position as she will probably be leaving the school district very shortly. As an"appreciation of her services during her • association with the committees the ladies presented Mis Burns with a handsome piece of china, also as a token of' the esteem in -which she is held, and as some slight rewa.rd for the time and labour she had so ungrudgingly expended in helping along the good work of the school.
