MAKINO.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MAKINO, April 20. Euchre has always proved an attraction in this district and members of the Hnfl Committee and their friends spent an enjoyablo evening last Friday at a euchre and dance organised by the young people as a fitting wind-up of the year’s activities. The winners of the cards were: Ladies, Mrs W. P. Bickers 1, Mrs D. McGregor the soalcd. Men : After playing off with Mr E. Christian, of Stanway, Mr W. E. Baker was tho winner of the men’s prize and Mr W. Anderson, of Cheltenham, tho sculod. Dancing was carried on until shortly after midnight. Music was played by Mr A. Feeney for the dances, extras being given by Miss Joan Moray. Mr Ivan Reid acted as AI.C. Tre winners of tile lucky Gay Gordons were Mrs D. McGregor and Mr M. Reid, and Miss L. Baker and Mr P. Simpson were the winners of the statue fox trot, Miss L. Baker and Mr S. Thomson took the prize for tho lucky excursion waltz. With the help of the boys, the girls served a dainty supper, after which Mr W. P. Bickers (chairman of tho Hall Committee) thanked the young folk for tho most enjoyable evening.
