GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETS. WINTER SHOW PREPARATIONS. The monthly meeting'of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association was held to-day, Mr Jos. Batclielar presiding over a good attendance. “The past month has been a busy one for the staff,” reported the sec-retary-organiser (Mr H. E. Kissling), “the principal work being the issue of acocunts for members’ subscriptions, the receipt and cataloguing of entries for the dairy section of the National Dairy Show, preparation for the annual general meeting and several special meetings of the finance committee and the general committee. With the conning of winter the Produce Hall has once again been frequently in use for badminton and skating, and with the commencement of the tenikoit season the hall will be returning a fair weeklyrental.” Advice was received from the Union Steamship Company that models of tlie vessels Orion and Orontes would he available for exhibition at the Winter Show. Classes for tlit Manawtu Philatelic Society and conditions for competition at the coming Winter Show were approved. ' Following upon the .submission by the secretary-organiser of a tentative list of free Show entertainment!, authority was given for tlie arrangement of suitable attractions at a cost not exceeding £SO.
