Mr T. Craigie, manager of the Koey Theatre, who has been on holidav. has resumed his duties, a.nd Mr W. T. Eyre, of Wellington, who ha 6 been relieving him, has left for Masterton to temporarily manage the Regent Theatre.
Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers, the Chief Justice, leaves to-day' on the Rangitata on a visit to Great Britain, having been granted leave of absence for six months by the Government. He will be accompanied by Lady Myers. Hon. Mr Justice Reed, as senior puisne Judge, will, act as Chief Justice till Sir Michael Myers returns, which is expected to be about October 21.
Mr E. Presncll was given a presentation this week on the occasion of his retirement" from the employ of Messrs Watson Bros, after 17 years’ service. Mr C. L. Mowlem, chairman of the board of directors, presented Mr Presnell with an illuminated address on the board’s behalf, and Mr H. Sinclair, for the staff, handed him an inscribed gold watch as fin expression of the esteem in which he is held by. his fellow workers.
