(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, April 7. The first shoot in the Ashhurst Defence Rifle Club’s service championships • was fired last Saturday over ranges of 200 and 300 yards. The day was fine with a light southerly wind and a bad changing light. Scores throughout wore very low with the exception of one or two. This shoot also counted for the club’s handicap aggregate, which extends through tho season’s shoots. Highest scores at 200 yards wero made by J. Searlo and S. J. Brookio, who each scored 32, ’while nt 300 yards the best returns wore registered by T. Orr, R. A. Jones, and R. Romlcv, each securing 30. Detailed scores: —H. Crawford, 28—24—13 65; S. J.
