A RECORD HEAD. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, April 10. During the past few weeks stalking parties in the Lakes District have reported many good red deer and wapiti heads, but what is undoubtedly the head of the season so far has been reported from ICinloch. Messrs J. Stone and E. N. Strain, of Dunedin, accompanied by Guide It. H. Bryant, secured a white-tailed Virginian deer with a head of 16 points. It is believed that nothing approaching this lias ever been secured in *New Zealand, before, and steps are now being taken to see if it has ever been equalled overseas. t
