MR NELSON’S RETURN.
VIEWS OF THE GOVERNMENT.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 7. Mr W. J. Broadfoot asked the Prime Minister (Hon. M. J. Savage), to-day. whether he had assured Mr O. F. Nelson that he will be allowed to return to Samoa unconditionally and, if so, did he not think it necessary to insist on conditions that Mr Nelson refrain from any agitation to stir up the Man section of the natives to obstruct the administration and loyal natives supporting them in tlieir endeavour to maintain law and order in the territory. Mr Savage replied that the Government intended to carry out its election pledges to do justice to the Samoans. Mr Nelson would return to Samoa on the same terms as would govern tlife return of a New Zealand citizen to the Dominion.
