Considerable sums of money were being remitted quietly from New Zealand to other countries for investment as a result of the Government’s proposed monetary policy, stated several Auckland l>ank directors and others interested in finance when interviewed yesterday. The opinion was expressed "that the announcement made on Wednesdav by the Prime Minister (Hon. M. J. Savage) concerning the readjustment of mortgages and the restoration of equities in land and homes had caused alarm and would stimulate the flight of capital from the country. The harvest festival services of , St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Terrace End, will be held on Sunday and are advertised in this issue. An invitation is extended to parishioners to generously give produce as in the past. All gifts should be left at the Church at'2 p.m. to-morrow. By special arrangement.
