RONGOTEA
(From Our Own Correspondent.) UONGOTEA, March 17. The harvest thanksgiving services at the Rongotea Methodist Church on Sunday attracted large congregations, both morn-' ’ ing and evening, many old time friends coming from a distance in the morning to share in the fellowship associated with such a gathering. The harvest hymns were sung with an especially spirited swing, while the choir were heard to advantage in special anthems. Mrs C. S. Hamlin presided at the organ. Rev. R. E. Fordyce was the preacher at both services, and also took the chair at the social and sale of produce on Monday evening. A concert was given in the early part of the evening, followed by the disposal of the produce. Mr E. C. Print was in charge of this. The sum of £2O was raised, and there are still some cash donations to come in, which will be devoted to church work. Those taking part in the programme were Mrs R. Dnlter, M'sses A. and M. Hunt, M. Huddleston, I). Kempton, Messrs -1.. Peacock, A. Pcdley, and R. Gloyn. The secretary of the trust (Mr Colin Hunt) contributed largely to the success by his work in supervising the decorations at the church and in assembling the produce.
