Niederer presided over tin) fortnightly mooting of tins Alaiiawatu branch of. the Now Zealand Cooperative Women’s Guild, wliicli was bold yesterday afternoon in (be Rialto Hall, Cuba Street. Airs Niedorcr welcomed those present. Apologies for absence were received from Airs Eox and Airs Jacobs. 'l’lie secretary (Airs I. McLeod) road a suggested programme, which Airs Niederer said contained sonic good ideas. They desired to make their meetings educational in the sense of helping to make the members more efficient co-operators, housewives, 'and citizens. and to lead fuller and happier lives, said All’s Niederer. Amusements were, therefore, definitely included, hut must not become the dominating lactor. “

Numerous suggestions were made, and it was decided to ask Miss Sly field, of ATasscy College, to attend the next meeting and bring a dressmaking box. Members are to bring recipes and samples to the next meeting, which are to he sold to augment the funds. Future meetings are to he held in the Y.W.C.A. looms, llangitikei Street. Afternoon tea arrangements were supervised by Alcsdames J. Boyd and A. Robb.
