ROWING CREW’S MISHAP.

CRAFT STRIKES PILE. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 16. While skimming over the .sheltered waters of Deborah Bay, yesterday, Otago’s representative eight-oar crew had the unpleasant -experience of striking a submerged pile which ripped a bole for about 14 feet in the cedar boat in which they were training. The boat was valued at over £IOO and is that in which six iuterprovincial contests have been contested. It will he a costly matter, as the insurance does not cover damage of this nature. Fortunately, another boat has been reconditioned so that training will not suffer.
