MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Mann.watu and West Coast A. and P. Association was held yesterday afternoon, Mr Jos. Batchelar presiding. Mr Batchelar extended a cordial welcome back to the committee to Mr A. C. B. Munro, of Taihape, who had been seriously ill. Mr R. D. Knight was accorded a vote of thanks for returning the sum of £3 (pa.rt of the prize money he had won at the last Show) for use at the coming fixture. The Feilding A. and P. Association forwarded a letter sympathising with the association in the havoc caused by the gale.—Received with thanks. Mr H. E. Kissling (secretary) reported that tbe annual Rugby match, between the Palmerston North Boys’ High School and the Te Ante Maori Boys’ College would bs held at the Winter Show. However, a year-to-year agreement would now obtain, the position being reviewed each year, owing to uncertainty regarding the future of the association The annual grant of £SO to the Rugby Union was being discontinued. but the grant of 10 per cent, of the gate leakings was being retained. The Rugby Union had not viewed with pleasure the playing of Rugby in con-junction-with shows, hut had agreed to this year’s match being played. The Rugby Union was accord-ed a vote of appreciation for its granting ot the match. Accounts amounting to £405 12s were passed for payment. Twenty new members were elected to tbe association. A draft of the annual report, read by the secretary, was approved. ' VICE-PRESIDENTS ELECTED. Consideration was given the election of six vice-presidents, interest in the position being added by the fact that the Mayor and member for the district held a seat by virtue of their office. The following were elected: Messrs A. E. Mansford, J. Hodgens, M.P., J. F. Knight, J. A. Russell, LI. Voss and W. J. Blundell.
