WAR REPORTS.

ABYSSINIAN SUCCESSES. Received March 16, 2.0 p.m. LONDON, Ma.rch 15.. Dedjazmatch AVodaju, of Dessie, hearing a false report of Haile Selassie's death, retreated after Ras Muluketa to Amba Alagi. Ras Mulugeta, who was north of it, ordered the retirement of Bidoded Makonnen, who refused and entered the Makale Road behind the Italian Third Army Corps, "tie successfully raided beyond Analo all the Italian detachments guarding communications. Ras Kabada. given formerly a.s Ras Ebada, commanding Ra.s Mulugeta’s and Bidoded’s armies, is well supplied with arms and food, and occupies a position north-east of the Italians at Amba Alagi. Dedja.zmatch AVodaju has also returned to the fighting line. The Abyssinians deny the Italian claim of occupation of Sokota in the southern Takkaze A r alley. They view the northern situation favourably. Ras Imru, Ras Ka.ssa, Ras Seyourn, and Ras Ayelou are all firmly holding their positions. The only commander considered any way to have failed was Ras Mulugeta, wnose mistakes are attributed to his age. . Raids on Italian communications continue. The presence of Haile Selassie has subdued the sporadic northern revolts. Robbers are continually handing over Italian rifles and uniforms as evidence of loyalty. Irregulars and Bidoded’s troops bloodily repulsed two Italian battalions attempting to break through south of Amba Alagi.
