THE WEATHER
FINE CONDITIONS. WELLINGTON, Feb. 12. Following is the weather report and forecast issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. to-day. A secondary westerly depression lias been crossing the Dominion to-day and barometers are now rising with the approach of an anti-cyclone from the Tasman Sea. Aloderate to strong south-westerly winds, squally at times along the east coast and far south. Scattered and intermittent rains still probable in districts with a westerly aspect, and extending later to parts of the east coast of the South Island, elsewhere mainly fine. Temperatures becoming cool over the South Island. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—3ft 3in.
