BUILT IN A DAY

CHURCH AND KINDERGARTEN

Between 6 a.m. and sunset on a Saturday honorary workers built- a church in Potter Street, Black Rock (Victoria) and in the evening held a thanksgiving service in the new building. I’he church is a weather board building- 30 feet by 22 feet, and behind it a building for a kindergarten, 22 feet by 16 feet, was also built on the Saturday. The cost of the materials for the church was £SOO, and except for the wages of skilled employees for the water and sewerage reticulation there was no other labour cost. Under the direction of Mr L. Brooker, 104 persons assisted, including 70 carpenters.
