PROBLEM AT WHANG ABEL Per Press Association. WHANGAREI, Feb. 11. Hopes that Wha.ngarei would soon possess an aeroplane landing ground on Polio Island have been frustrated by the refusal of a small farm-holder to give up portion of his holding without compensation. A conference of local bodies is to investigate the possibilities of other sites in the vicinity. The town of Whangarei is lagging behind other northland centres which now have landing grounds.
