M. llruce’s nutrition committee Lord Astor continued that tactful skill would be required to persuade people that a specilic disease can be avoided by an improved dietary and that the physique can be improved, robustness replace weakness and contentment ami well-being replace disharmony and discontentment. If this could be achieved the whole economic policy of certain nations may be affected and the whole structure of agriculture influenced. A marked increase in the demand for perishable products such as milk and vegetables might result in the farmers becoming less insistent on State help tor their sugar and wheat crops, leading gradually to an increase in the* international exchange of goods and thus to the restoration of world trade.
