PAHIATUA.

PAHIATUA, Feb. 9. At the monthly mooting of the Mangamairo Women’s Institute Mrs Ralph presided. A letter was received intimating that a delegate is to be sent to the women’s conference in Washington and members decided to assist, if necessary. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr Lawson,, and with the secretary ('Miss Ralph) in her recent accident. The points competition for the best bowl of flowers was won by Miss E. Moriarty. A word-buildhig competition was won by Mi's H. Henderson. The. hostesses, Airs and Miss Pinfold, served afternoon tea. On Friday evening members of the Mangainutu Hall Committee and the social committee of the Pahiatua Swimming Club hold a joint meeting to discuss the best means to overcome the difficulty of a clash in dance dates. After a discussion, it was decided to combine the two dances, and hold one big dance in tho Mangainutu Hall.
