KELVIN GROVE.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KELVIN GROVE, Feb. 8. Mr and Mrs G. Tunuiciffc have returned home after a holiday spent at Porangaliau. Airs Reid has Miss J. Gray, of Hastings, staying with her. -Mrs A. Laurence and her daughter, who have been visiting Hamilton, have returned home. Airs L. Koberstein, of Palmerston North, is staying with Air and Alls R. Koberstein. Air and Airs Henry Burr, of Auckland, with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Airs H. Cole, also of Auckland, have been visiting relatives in Kelvin Grove. The school opened with a small increase in the attendance. The hall, which was damaged in last Sunday’s gale, is undergoing repairs, and will he reopened next Wednesday. Many residents have suffered as a result of the gale. Trees are down on almost every farm, while several farmers have lost cowsheds, fowl-houses and implement sheds. Mr Wolfsbauer’s property has u wrecked appearance. Trees are down everywhere, though luckily the house escaped damage. Several residents have had _ their chimneys blown down. The weather is still very unsettled and unfortunately several farmers, who had their hay cut last week, are unable to get it in. AJr and Airs. W. Slrawbridgc, aid Air and Mrs Roche, with their faiutilcs, have taken up their residence iu this district.
