(From Uur Own Correspondent). BAINESSE, Jan. 20. Among recent visitors to Baincsso have been Miss D. Tennant, of Wellington, Miss L. Thessman, of Utaki, Mr J. Ilicssman, of Wellington, and Mr _ and Mrs H Houlbrookc, ot \V oodville. The friends of Miss Zillah Brooke-’l aylor will bo pleased to Barn that she is making a good recovery from her recent operation. Mr T. Crammer, of Kellihcr’s Line, who has boon a patient in the Palmerston North Hospital for some time as a result of injuries received in a motor-car accident, is at present at home for a short stay. He has to return to hospital in dim course for further treatment. Mrs A. C. Buchanan and her two children have returned from a holiday spent at Waitarcro beach. Mrs F. Lcgg and family are onjoying a holiday at I oxton beach.. Air T. Robertson paid a week-end visit to Wellington. Ivan, Tom and Cordon Robertson, of Wellington, are staying with their grandparents, Mir and Mrs T. Robertson, for the school, holidays. Miss Eunice Caske tias returned from a visit to Levin. Boautilul weather prevails after the heavy ranis of last week. Pastures are looking beautifully green after a good soaking, while water tanks have been roplenkhed and gardens greatly benefited by the rainfall. Farmers arc making the most of the fine weather at present. Some are still harvesting, while others are busy at their mangolds, the rain having greatly encouraged the growth of weeds in these crops.
