McKenzie, Makerua, after spending a week with her parents, Mr and Mrs W. toeifeit, of Palmerston North. Responding to an appeal from the Melbourne Zoo for live frogs with which to feed the snakes, Florence Dryden a 14-year-old Seaford girl, has caught 1530 large green frogs and sent them along. She will receive 6cl a dozen foi them, with which she will help to pay the medical expenses of her mother s illness, tvhich entails a serious, operation. It is a long distance to New Zealand to go to attend a birthday party, but the celebration of their mother s eighty-ninth birthday is a big event in the family of Mrs A. IF M atson, of Artnmon, and her sister, bliss F. J. Reid (says the Sydney Morning Herald). The party will take place at Mrs Reid’s home in Wellington, and other members of the family will go from all over the Dominion. Mrs Watson is also taking her daughter, Miss Claire Watson. They will be in New Zealand for three months, touring through both islands. After the celebration of her mother’s birthday, Mrs AVatson will go to Port Chalmers to celebrate the eightieth birthday of her husband s mother, Mrs John Watson.
