FAREWELL DINNER

PROFESSOR RIDDET HONOURED. FACTORY MANAGERS’ ASSOCIATION. Professor W. Riddet, Director of the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute at Massey College, who leaves on February 4 to spend a year abroad under a Carnegie Corporation travelling award, was the guest of honour at a farewell dinner tendered him in Pnlmerston North on Friday evening by the executive of the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers’ Association, who assembled specially for the occasion. The Dominion president, Mr P. C. H. Petersen (Cambridge;, was in the chair, de'egates representing every province being present, including Messrs S. Death (Awahuri) and J. Read (Rongotea), president and secretary respectively of the Manawatu branch. After the appropriate toast had been honoured, Mr Petersen spoke in eulogistic terras of the valuable services rendered to the dairy industry by Professor Riddet and, in handing him a travelling rug, wished both him and Mrs Riduet bon voyage.

Other members of the executive endorsed the president’s comment. Professor Riddet replied, stating that he had made a number of personal friends since coming to New Zealand, and he deeply appreciated the assistance given him by the Dairy .Factory Managers’ Association.
