MANAWATU COUNTY.
EXECUTIVE MEETING. Tire finance committee of the Manawatu County Council, comprising Crs. W. E. Barber (chairman), J. W. Perrett and W. E. Pearce, met on Friday night and dealt with routine business of the council for the month. Various matters of a domestic nature wore completed and the accounts passed for payment. Correspondence was received from the Oroua Drainage Board regarding a suggestion to build a floodgate at the mouth of the Main Drain at ltangiotu to'prevent the flooding of the adjacent property. The committee discussed the ■matter as it affected the council, and it was agreed to meet representatives of the Drainage Board on the spot at a date to be arranged, to go further into, the suggestion.
