LINER DIVERTED.
DELAY TO MONOWAI. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 18. The passenger liner Monowai, which left Sydney for Auckland at 4 p.m. yesterday, received an urgent call from Lord Howe Island asking for medical assistance for one of the island dwellers. The vessel was immediately diverted for the island and as a result the Monowai, which was originally clue on Monday afternoon, is now due at Auckland on Tuesday morning.
