BOARDS TO GO

STATEMENT REITERATED. Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, Jan. IS. Hons. R. Semple and P. C. Webb, paying an official visit to Westland yesterday, made a number of visits of inspection of the various centres. Today they are visiting the Kokatahi Valley and afterwards are proceeding to South Westland. Last evening public deputations were received and a long list of requirements was brought under their notice. Mr Semple outlined the public works policy with relation to relief and Mr Webb congratulated the mining executive of Westland on the work done during its existence, stating that no other executive bad done such excellent work. Mr Semple reiterated his assurance that all boards would go. Regarding the cessation of exploratory' work on the hydro-electric scheme at Onepotj, Lake Waikaremoana, Mr Semple declined to comment, reserving a statement till lie inspected the position again.
