OBITUARY.
MR E. J. HODREN. The death occurred at Hawera last week of Mr Edwin John Hodren, a resident of Hawera for nearly 30 years. Mr Hodren was born f in Birmingham, England, in 1873 and came to New Zealand as an infant. He resided at Wanganui for some time and after his marriage in 1895 moved to Palmerston North- After several years in this district he removed to Hawera and for practically the whole of the 30 years was foreman painter to a builder. Of a retiring disposition, Mr Hodren had few outside interests, but was a keen follower of sports and athletics. He was a member of the Hawera Druids’ Lodge, ilr Hodren is survived by a widow, four daughters—Mrs J. L. Atkinson (Tokaora), Mrs H. H. Crockett (Eltliam), Mrs W. W. Hackston (Hawera) and Miss Hodren (Wellington)—and three sons—Messrs. E. S. Hodren (Onerahi), E. J. Hodren (Palmerston North) and E Hodren ( Wellington).
