BURLESQUE OF HITLER.
PROTEST EFFECTIVE. LONDON, Dec. 5. Recalling representations by the German Consul at Sydney successfully appealing to the Governor not to attend a theatre at which Herr Hitler was burlesqued, the Lord Chamberlain has instructed the Garrick Theatre, London, to omit all reference to HenHitler from the play “Vicky.” The German r'mbassy last week complained that it was discourteous to the Fulirer to have a page boy named Hezekiah Hitler saying: “It’s a nuisance there being two of us, but he won’t change his name. I’m danged if I change mine.” The Lord Chamberlain’s order was received a few hours before to-night’s performance, and as there was no time to rewrite and rehearse the scene the name of Hen- Hitler was temporarily replaced by George Bernard Gandhi, as the manager hopes Gandhi is not in direct telephonic communication with London,
