TAONUI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAONUI, Doc. 6. At a meeting of the School Committee it was decided to hold a breaking-up ceremony on the afternoon of the 18th inst., when a Christmas tree, treasure hunt, and ic-crcarn will be provided for the children. Ladies aro asked to bring a plate, and afternoon tea will be served. The amount of £1 10s was received for damage done to the hay paddock. After a considerable discussion on the matter of prizes for the children, it was decided to bring the question before the next householders’ mooting, when the opinion of the parents can bo fully expressed. The beautiful summer weather which has been experienced this week has been welcomed by all, and fanners are now very busy getting their belated crops in. The drone of tractors can be heard from daylight till dark, while several hay crops ha\o been cut and harvested.
