The Board of Control has allotted three three-day Tests to New Zealand in 1937 at Lord’s, Manchester, and the Oval. They and the Indians have been allotted four days for the final Test if the rubber depends on it. The profits of the South African Tests were £16,088 as compared with £7546 in the 1929 tour. PROFIT FOR DOMINION. M.C.C. MATCH AT MELBOURNE. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. Receipts from the M.C.C. v. Victoria match totalled £607. Because bad weather effected the gate, the Victorian Cricket Association and the Melbourne Cricket Club will forego tlieir percentage of the charge and hand practically the whole profits to the New Zealand Cricket Council, which is managing the tour. It is estimated that New Zealand will receive about £350. HOLMES’S INTENTIONS. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. The M.C.C. team’s captain, E. R. T. Holmes, in an interview, said he expected to retire from the captaincy of Surrey after the next English season, adding: “Amateur cricket is an expensive pastime.”
