Constable R. Boyd, late of Otaki, has been appointed to Shannon, filling the vacancy caused by the death of Constable Blaikie. Mr S. Irwin Crookes has notified the Auckland University College Council that he intends to resign in December from his position as a representative of the council upon the Massey Agricultural College Council. Mr G. W. Simpsou, ex-Publie Service Commissioner’ in Perth, West Australia, and president of the Y.M.C.A. in that city, arrived at Wellington yesterday pn a three-months’ visit to New Zealand. Mr Simpson is accompanied by his wife, who is nresident of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Y.W.C.A. in Perth.
