BRITISH EMPHATIC VERDICT “A National Government for the National Good” —Stanley Baldwin THE sweeping victory of the British National Government under the leadership of Mr. Stanley Baldwin —a 2to I majority—gives an emphatic answer to the prophets of doom and disaster, and is a striking demonstration of the confidence of the British people in sane progressive government. Already the markets at Home have reacted favourably by a general display of buoyancy and strength. Every vote against the Government is a vote for Labour. Middle Parties and floating candidates have been swept aside in Britain as useless encumbrances to serious administration. The issue in New Zealand is just as clear and simple: a vote against the Government is a vote for Labour. ‘Joilow 'BfutalaS £ead VOTE SANE-VOTE SAFE VOTE The choice facing the British Elector was a simple one—of voting for the Government or against the Government. A similar choice faces the electors of New Zealand. Even the brilliant oratory of Mr. Lloyd George failed to sway the sound judgment of the British electors. New Zealanders will similarly refuse to be gulled by the rosy promises of the spokesmen of the Democrat and Labour parties. ELECTORS’
