CRUISER DIOMEDE.

TO RETURN IN JANUARY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 20. News that H.M.S. Diomede is to relieve H.M.S. Colombo on the Colombo station and return to New Zealand in January next is indicated in air-mail letters received from the crew. The Diomede arrived at Singapore after a record run ffom Auckland, via Darwin. She was due to reach Colombo on November 2, after which H.M.S. Colombo was going to England foi refit. It is understood the crew have

been informed by the officers that on the return voyage the Diomede wdl call at various Pacific Islands. The letters state that all aboard are cheerful, and while enjoying the prospect of brief service at Colombo, are eagerly looking forward to returning to New Zealand early next year.
